In a tragic incident within the besieged Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation forces have been accused of committing a brutal massacre by targeting residential areas in Gaza and Rafah, resulting in the assassination of three leaders from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad resistance group and their families.
According to reports from Al-Ahed News, Zionist warplanes conducted a series of airstrikes at dawn on Tuesday, specifically targeting the homes of leaders from the "Al-Quds Brigades," the military wing of Islamic Jihad. As a result, these leaders, along with their wives and several children, tragically lost their lives.
The "Al-Quds Brigades" have mourned the loss of their leaders, namely Shaker Al-Ghanam, the Secretary of the Al-Quds Brigades Military Council; Khalil Salah Al-Bahtini, a member of the Military Council and Commander of the group's Northern Area; and Tareq Mohammad Ezzedine, a military leader of Al-Quds Brigades in the occupied West Bank.
In a statement, the Al-Quds Brigades expressed their condolences for the leaders and their families, emphasizing that their sacrifice would only strengthen the group's determination, deepen their commitment to their cause, and perpetuate the resistance.
The recent Zionist aggression resulted in the tragic loss of 12 lives, including women and children, as reported by the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza. Additionally, over 20 individuals were injured in the attacks.
In response to the assassinations, the Gaza Governmental Media Bureau declared the suspension of working hours in educational institutions across the strip. Furthermore, tests for educational job opportunities scheduled for Tuesday were postponed indefinitely.
Commenting on the assassinations, Ismail Haniya, the Head of Hamas Politburo, emphasized that the treacherous attack targeting leaders would not bring security to the occupiers but instead intensify resistance. Haniya stated, "The enemy has miscalculated its actions and will pay the price for its crime," further asserting that only through unified resistance could the enemy be dealt pain and aggression confronted.
