Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, under siege, organized a demonstration to protest the "flag march" conducted by Israeli settlers, which they perceive as a highly provocative act.
According to reports on Thursday, Israeli occupation forces attacked Palestinian protesters near the eastern borders of Gaza City, resulting in several injuries.
The Israeli forces employed live ammunition and tear gas against the demonstrators while far-right Zionists carried out their "flag march" in the occupied East Jerusalem's Old City.
In response to this Israeli provocation, Palestinian resistance factions called for the protest in Gaza. The participants denounced the "flag march" in East Jerusalem and demanded an end to Israeli attacks on the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, a holy site.
Similar protests took place in Nablus, a city in the occupied West Bank, to express solidarity with Jerusalem.
The annual "flag march" commemorates the Israeli regime's occupation of the West Bank and Jerusalem in 1967. It is organized by extremist Israeli settlers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
The march serves as a platform for these settlers to condemn what they perceive as the Tel Aviv government's failure to address the Palestinian situation and assert their presence in the occupied Palestinian city and its holy sites.
A spokesperson for the Islamic Jihad movement stated that the Israeli regime cannot defeat Palestinians through such measures, emphasizing that the fight against the Israeli regime will not cease until it is eradicated.
Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of the Hamas resistance movement, commented on the issue, highlighting that the massive deployment of Israeli security forces in Jerusalem demonstrates their fear of Palestinian acts of resistance.
Meanwhile, Israeli lawmakers are promoting a new bill that would criminalize the display of the Palestinian flag, with offenders facing up to one year in prison. This represents the latest crackdown by the far-right Israeli administration.
The Israeli Knesset (parliament) has already granted preliminary approval to the bill, requiring three additional votes for it to pass.
Since assuming office earlier this year, the most right-wing administration in Israeli history under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has introduced numerous pieces of legislation aimed at appeasing the far-right factions within the occupied territories.
Hamas condemned the Knesset's plan to ban Palestinian flags from public spaces, characterizing it as evidence of the regime's commitment to its fascist agenda and a declaration of war against Palestinians.
The resistance movement asserted that the bill would not intimidate Palestinians but rather encourage them to proudly carry and raise their national flag, representing their identity wherever they may be.
Additionally, the Palestinian resistance movement called upon the international community and the United Nations to condemn the Israeli atrocities committed against the Palestinian people.
