Agbeni market, a well-known market in Ibadan, Oyo State, has been engulfed in a massive fire. The incident occurred at approximately 4:30 am on Sunday, according to reliable sources from The PUNCH Metro.
The state General Manager of Fire Services, Yemi Akinyemi, confirmed the incident when contacted. He stated that the distress call reporting the fire was received at precisely 4:37 am from Sunday Ogundele, the security personnel at Access Bank.
"Our firefighters are currently engaged in battling the blaze, and we are grateful to the Central Bank of Nigeria for granting us access to their water supply," Akinyemi said. "The situation is under control, and our personnel will be heading to the CBN to replenish their water resources."
The extent of the damage caused by the fire is yet to be determined, and efforts are ongoing to extinguish the flames and mitigate further loss.
