Incident of Customs Officer Shooting Colleague at Checkpoint in Jigawa State

 


In Garki Local Government, Jigawa State, an unfortunate incident occurred where a Nigerian Customs Service officer discharged his firearm at a fellow colleague stationed at a checkpoint.


The incident took place on Friday when a vehicle, reportedly coming back from the Niger Republic, failed to halt at the customs checkpoint. Suspicions arose among the personnel present, leading one of them to open fire on the moving vehicle.


Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the individual in the vehicle was SC Muhammad Sayyadi, who serves at the Lagos State Command and is the son of the esteemed Emir of Ringim, HRH Dr Sayyadi Abubakar Mahmud, one of Jigawa's five first-class emirs.
