The military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, known as Al-Quds Brigades, has expressed mourning over the loss of its commander in the rocketry unit. The commander, Ali Hassan Ghali (also known as Abu Muhammad), was martyred in an alleged assassination carried out by the Israeli forces in Khan Yunis, a region in southern Gaza. The Al-Quds Brigades released a statement honoring Ghali and the other martyrs who lost their lives in the incident.
Over the course of three consecutive days, the Israeli occupation regime has intensified its airstrikes on the besieged Gaza Strip. As a result, three Palestinians, including the Islamic Jihad commander, were martyred. The airstrikes specifically targeted a building in Hamad Residential City, near Khan Yunis, in the early hours of Thursday. This aggressive assault by the Israeli regime has been ongoing since Tuesday, leading to a tragic toll of at least 24 Palestinian fatalities and numerous injuries.
Among the victims were three senior commanders of the Islamic Jihad, along with their wives and children. In response to the deadly air raids, Palestinian resistance groups in Gaza launched retaliatory rockets towards Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv, on Wednesday. The operation, codenamed "revenge of the free," involved firing a significant number of rockets towards the occupied Palestinian territories.
In a joint statement, Gaza's command of Palestinian resistance groups declared their unity and determination to protect their people, land, and holy sites. They emphasized their readiness for any situation and warned of dire consequences if the Israeli occupation persists in its aggression and arrogance. Tel Aviv has acknowledged that at least 400 rockets were fired into the Israeli territories from Gaza, further escalating the tense situation between the two sides.
